The 25-year-old striker Kpah Sherman has been named the best player of the Malaysian Premier League for the month of May following his excellent form which helped his club move second on league table.

Sherman managed to score six goals against three clubs in MISC-MIFA’s six games played in the month of May. He began the month of May with a goal in MISC-MIFA’s 3-2 loss to FELDA United at home on May 1 before scoring twice against Penang FC to help MISC-MIFA bounce back from defeat.

Sherman’s scoring continued in his club’s third game in the month against league leaders FELDA United. Through his efforts, his side escaped back-to-back defeats by scoring twice to dump FELDA United away from home.

In MISC-MIFA’s fourth game in May against Penang FA, Sherman failed to score, but his team still grabbed a narrow 3-2 win at home. The former Black Aces striker returned to the scoresheet the following game on the 25^th of May away at UITM. He scored once to help MISC-MIFA get a 2-0 win before failing to score in their last game in May against PDRM.

Sherman’s latest achievement as the 2018 Malaysian Premier League’s Player of the Month has brought joy to the striker, who told The Bush Chicken that he’s grateful to God for the recognition and has promised to work harder for more.

Speaking via Facebook messenger, Sherman said, “I’m grateful for the award. Without God and hard work, it wouldn’t have been possible. It comes as a motivation for me to work harder. We are midway [in] the season and there are few games ahead. With the hard work of my coaches and teammates, I’m hopeful for more.”

Sherman’s decision to quit Europe and Africa and move to Asia has proven to be one of the best decision in his professional football career as he continues to make the headlines in Malaysia. Following his seven goals in nine games in his debut season last year, he has now scored 10 goals in 13 games.

Only one person – Brazilian striker Anselmo Arruda da Silva – has more goals than him in the league.
