LISCR FC Signs Two New Players

MONROVIA, Montserrado – LISCR FC has further strengthened its squad with additional two big name signees ahead of the 2018 league season.

The three-time Liberian league champions have announced the signing of former Barrack Young Controllers Football Club winger Prince Saydee and Sam Kollie, a former player for FC Fassell. LISCR FC signed the two players as free agents on a three-year deal. The club disclosed the news on Monday, February 26 via their official Facebook page.

LISCR made the move just less than a week after they were thrown out of the 2018 CAF Champions League when they failed to proceed from the preliminary round of the competition after losing to Sudanese side 3-1 on aggregate. The Shipping Boys won the first leg 1-0 at home but were unable to score a single goal in Sudan as they bowed to a 3-0 defeat. The signing of Saydee, who plays as a right and left winger, and Kollie, who plays as a striker, comes at the right time for the Shipping Boys.

The two new players will join other recent signees: Gambian forward Bully Drammeh, who plays as a right and left winger; Amadiah Kawah, formerly of Keitrace Football Club; Gambian striker Mustapha Njie; Nigerian-Liberian striker Alloy Brown; and forward Mark Paye.

In total, LISCR has signed 13 new players ahead of the new season.

Saydee spent five years with BYC where he won two first division titles and established himself as top player before making an appearance for the national football team. He has gone to make several youth appearances for junior national teams and two senior appearances for the senior national team.

Kollie has been one of the best striker on the local scene for the past years. The 24-year-old helped FC Fassell win the 2014 Liberia FA and represented FC Fassell in the 2015 CAF Confederation Cup. He made his debut for the senior national team on May 18 2014 in Liberia’s 1-0 win over Lesotho.
