NEC Releases Provisional Listings of Candidates for Montserrado’s By-Elections

MONROVIA, Montserrado – The National Elections Commission has released the provisional listing of candidates contesting in the Montserrado representative and senatorial by-elections.

NEC released the listing on Tuesday, May 21, two days after its deadline. The two by-elections are scheduled to take place on July 2.

According to NEC’s provisional listing, there are so far seven candidates registered for the senatorial race. Among them are three females and four independent candidates.

There are seven candidates so far registered for Montserrado’s fifteenth district representative by-election to replace the deceased Rep. Adolph Lawrence.

Unlike the senatorial by-election, Telia Urey of the All Liberian Party is the only female among the representative candidates. Urey is also the choice for the other three opposition collaboration political parties- Unity Party, Liberty Party, and the Alternative National Congress.
