Nimbaians in Monrovia Want Justice in Alleged Ritualistic Killing

GANTA, Nimba – Nimba citizens residing in Monrovia are calling on the government to conduct a speedy and fair trial in the case of Nyah Domah, a motorcyclist who was killed recently in Ganta.

On Sept. 30, the body of the late Domah was discovered in the 404 community, around the Ganta United Methodist Football Field. According to reports, the body was discovered with several wounds sustained on the head and other parts of the body, in what prompted claims of a ritualistic killing.

Mentric Gontee, the spokesman of the Concerned Nimba Community in Monrovia spoke to Voice of Gompa early Monday morning.

“We are very much concerned about the investigation process and also disappointed in the way the investigation is being handled,” Gontee said. “We are calling on the Justice Ministry to be very fair in this investigation process. If not, we will be left with no other alternative but to demonstrate before the Capitol building…”

Meanwhile, one of the alleged suspects, Bill Lauriss was apprehended by citizens and turned over to the Liberian National Police. Reports say that Lauriss disclosed the names of those directly involved into the murder of the late Domah including Prince Howard, who he said masterminded the murder.

Gontee said that it was unfair for one party to be accorded full government protection while the others are being hunted as trouble makers. He noted that it is the duty of the police to treat everyone who Is connected to the recent violence as a suspect and that includes Howard.

He emphasized that it was unfair to have Howard going about freely using the media to make inappropriate comments.

“Mr. Howard should not be allowed any longer to use the media until the investigation is concluded, proving him innocent,” Gontee said.

In a phone call to Ganta’s Radio Kergheamahn, Howard said that he is innocent of all the allegations levied against him by the murder suspect.
