Liberian striker Patrick Ronaldinho Wleh has made his return to competitive football after joining Egyptian Premier League club, Petrojet Sporting Club.

The Liberian international striker joined the Egyptian side on a two-year deal with the option of extending. Wleh broke the news via his official Facebook page. In a short post, the 26-year-old striker expressed his joy for joining the club.

He wrote, “Happy to announce that I have signed a two-year deal with Egyptian Premier League club, Petrojet Sporting Club. I’m excited to for the move and can’t wait to start a new chapter with the Blaugrana. Special thanks to my agent and all those that stood with me.”

The deal was later confirmed by Petrojet in a short release on the club’s Facebook page. The club said Wleh was their target in during the winter transfer but it had failed to conclude the deal until now.

Wleh joined the club as a free agent after spending the last five years as professional footballer in Malaysia. He departed Liberia in 2012 and completed a deal with then Malysian Premier League club, Sime Darby Football Club where his performance made him the target of many clubs in Malaysia. He scored 19 goals in 20 games for Sime Darby during the 2013 Malaysia Premier League season and moved to PKNS FC in 2014.

Wleh joined PKNS before the 2014 season on a year’s deal with the option of extension, completing a successful 2014 season with the club and signing an additional three years. The former LISCR FC striker played the 2015 Malaysian Super League season with PKNS and joined state rivals., Selangor FC, prior to the 2016 season after PKNS was relegated from the top flight of Malaysian football.

At the end of the one-year loan with Selangor, he returned to PKNS to complete his final season. The club opted not to extend his contract at the end of 2017 and he became a free agent. He scored 45 goals in 75 appearances for PKNS and 11 goals in 21 appearances for Selangor FA.

After being released by PKNS FC, Wleh came close to completing a deal with Egyptian Premier League Club Ismaily Soccer Club but failed to seal the move after both parties couldn’t agree on terms.

He is expected to join his new teammates for the pre-season in July ahead of the 2018-19 Egyptian League Season.

Wleh was recently the subject of a sex tape scandal, where he was the star of three leaked sexual videos involving three separate women, including his wife.
